Gabi's Farewell June 9, 2019

What an amazing day! Before church we set up all the canopies, tables, decorations and finished the last minute food preparations. Gabi was in charge of making sure it all looked just the way she wanted it. We had French flags in all the pots, Eiffel Tower decorations and most of the food had a French theme. We also had a TV set up in the living room playing her opening her call and all her mission pictures. I had to stay away from that because it just made me cry. Everything looked amazing!

Gabi wore my favorite mission dress. Bright yellow with polka dots. It looks so darling on her. So it was actually Tyler Seeley's homecoming also today and amazingly he wore a bright yellow tie. They matched! The whole family on both sides arrived...which is pretty darn impressive for my side. Tyler spoke first and left Gabi to speak after the youth sang Here Am I!! That song! Our past stake president, Kyle McKay, wrote it and Tom Clark wrote the music. The youth have been singing it for about 5 years and I have cried, no sobbed, every time.

Ignore my sobbing noises throughout.

Then Gabi gave the most beautiful talk.

Afterwards we had a great get together at our home. Friends and family trickled over for several hours. The food was great, company was great, it was just the perfect day! Today it got a little more real that she is actually going to do this!
